Specialist Vehicle Manufacturer - £10 million

The client is a £10m turnover manufacturer operating in the auto sector. During 2008 the company lost over £200k on a turnover of £8m, and followed this with losses of around £1.5m during 2009 as turnover plummeted to £5m and the company failed to react by cutting costs.

In 2010 sales picked up, but this on its own would still have left the firm with considerable annual losses. Procedural and organisational changes across all functions introduced by Collingwood meant the firm was able to reduce overheads. This moved the firm into profit at a striking rate of £500k pa. It is expected that profits will improve further as the firm capitalises on the new procedures and organisation.

Further, Collingwood implemented a range of planning and output measurement procedures that gave the factory realistic targets and helped match requirement versus resources. Throughput is now £10m with the capability to move to £15m in time.
